Rawr furies!
I managed to cut my finger so typing this now really is a pleasure to me. The site itself has obviously gone online but I wasn't able to test it much.
1. The site
2. Some of it's features
3. The forum
4. Future plans
1. The site
The site makes use of the open source content management system Drupal. Maybe some of you heard of it already. I made that decision because I despise all those phpnuke platforms and with some work invested almost everything can be build upon drupal. Due to lack of time right now this process will be slow but steady. Some things will be expanded in the near future, others will come when it's necessary. Right now there aren't enough members to make changes absolutely necessary.
2. Useful features
Here is a short list, starting from the login.
*Login by using an openid account possible
*Only one login for site and forums
*Each member has the opportunity to create own content on the site
*Due to access right settings we have restricted content to members without much hassle
3. The forum:
I am using an external forum but it's integrated with the site so no additional hassle with logins is needed.
4. Future plans
Lot's of work is needed! Eventually you even come up with a great idea and want to see it implemented. As mentioned Drupal is an OS application and you can access it freely to make own contributions to Drupal or our site. If you want to see own changes on the site, the best way would be to just download the recent version of Drupal (v6) and run a local server to play around with it until you have it running locally, then we will test it on the site and see how it works.
Urgend things I'm working on:
Content for the site.
Theme/template needs some tweaking here and there.
Deeper forum integreation into the site.
Some Ajax implementations (e.g. the famous lightboxes etc.)
